Especially in poor, remote areas of Africa, solar energy provides rural communities with essential and sustainable benefits.
Solar lighting is a starting aid at a very basic level: it improves the children’s school education and reduces illiteracy among adults.
The solar projects of Solafrique are simple and focused, with results easy to control. The equipment and its transport do not cost very much on a European scale, but are financially out of reach for communities of remote areas of Africa with a household’s average yearly income below €500.
For sustainability, we make sure that a sufficient amount of spare parts is available and long-term periodic maintenance is provided.
